Fat Freddy's Drop

Roots, dub, reggae, jazz and soul!

Fat Freddy's Drop are a seven-piece roots, dub, reggae, jazz, soul band from Wellington, New Zealand. Formed in the late 1990s around Wellington's small, close-knit music scene, the group's current and former members continued to play with other bands during much of their history. Fat Freddy's Drop is known for their live performances – improvised jam sessions. Songs appearing on their albums are periodically put together during several years of performances while touring.

Flight of the Conchords

New Zealand comedy duo

Flight of the Conchords is a New Zealand comedy duo composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Billing themselves as "Formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo" , the group uses a combination of witty observation, characterization and acoustic guitar music. The duo's comedy and music became the basis of a BBC radio series and then an American television series, which premiered in 2007, also called Flight of the Conchords .

Briolette Kah Bic Runga MNZM (born 13 January 1976) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter who first solo album, Drive , debuted at number one in the New Zealand RIANZ charts, and has since become one of the highest-selling New Zealand artists of all time. Runga has also found success internationally in Australia, the Republic of Ireland and to some extent in the UK.

The Black Seeds

Fusion of dub, funk, afrobat and soul

The Black Seeds are a musical group from Wellington, New Zealand. Their music is a fusion of dub, funk, afrobat and soul. The Black Seeds have two double-platinum selling albums at home, and successul European album releases through the German-based Sonar Kollektiv label. The Black Seeds perform with eight members, with instruments including vocals, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, bongos, keyboard and wood block.
